Political Analyst predicts strong win for Bawumia as he rallies NPP for 2026

In anticipation of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag-bearer election set for January 31, 2026, Dr. Joshua Zaato, a political science lecturer at the University of Ghana, has forecasted a decisive victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“Per the data that has been presented, Dr Bawumia will win the flagbearer election by 61%,” he stated during a panel discussion.

In the meantime, Bawumia, who previously held the position of Vice President of Ghana, is stressing that his prospective victory would signify success for the entire party.

“My victory shall mean victory for the whole NPP,” he proclaimed after completing his tour of the Bono East Region.

He further mentioned that upon winning the primaries, his goal is to “bring everyone on board to help bring the New Patriotic Party back to the top.”

He also emphasized the necessity of unity within the party as they prepare for the 2026 presidential primaries.

“Even as we approach the 2026 presidential primaries, we must remain united,” he articulated, reflecting on the warm reception he experienced during his regional tour.

During his time in Bono East, Bawumia expressed that he was “impressed by the massive show of support” from fellow NPP supporters, asserting that such encouragement fortifies his determination to advance a shared vision.
