The Ghana Police Service has expressed appreciation to the public for their cooperation during the presidential swearing-in ceremony on January 7, 2025.
President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang were officially sworn into office after Mahama’s victory in the 2024 general elections.
In a statement issued on January 8, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, extended gratitude to the public for their support during the event.
She specifically thanked the motoring public for their patience with the temporary road closures and traffic diversions in Accra, which were implemented to facilitate the smooth conduct of the ceremony.
“We particularly thank the motoring public for their patience during the temporary road closures and traffic diversions in Accra during the event,” ACP Ansah-Akrofi stated.
The police were responsible for ensuring safety, order, and security during the swearing-in process, and they expressed satisfaction with the public’s understanding of the temporary disruptions.
In the statement, the Ghana Police Service reaffirmed its commitment to upholding peace, security, and law across the country.
They called for continued cooperation from the public in future events and emphasized their dedication to maintaining national order.
“The police remain committed to maintaining peace, security, law and order across the country and urge the public for their continuous support,” ACP Ansah-Akrofi concluded.
