Police search for man who defiled and impregnated his 2 nieces

The Agona Swedru District Police have launched a search for one Kobina Appiah, 32, for allegedly defiling and impregnating his two nieces at Agona Abodom in the Agona West District of the Central Region.

The victims are said to be 14 and 16 years old.

The mother of the underaged girls explained that she left her daughters in the care of her younger brother to undergo emergency surgery.

According to her, she had no idea of the ordeal until the 14-year-old was confirmed pregnant.

Her daughter pointed fingers at their uncle, Kobina, and narrated the multiple times he had sexually assaulted her after she was questioned.

The victim explained that her uncle gave them alcoholic beverages to get them drunk, while he laced their drinks with sleeping pills at other times.

Tolderder victim also confirmed the claims, adding that the suspect takes her on travels to perpetrate the unlawful act.

Both victims are pregnant; the eldest is in her third month, and the younger is four months.

The mother of the victims, Afua Yeboah, has reported the matter to the police despite pleas by relations to settle at home.

She has also informed the traditional council and has involved other security operatives to arrest the suspect, who is currently on the run.

The Regent of Agona Abodom, Nana Owiro, assured that his council would do everything to have suspect Kobina face the full rigours of the law.

Meanwhile, the suspect allegedly fled the town, leaving behind his wife and children.
