Police recover Meek Mills stolen phone; suspect in custody

The police have recovered the American rapper Meek Mill’s stolen mobile phone.

One suspect has consequently been arrested in connection with the theft.

The rapper had announced on Instagram how he was pickpocketed, pleading with all to bring “that Jawn” back if found.

He is said to have later reported the crime to the police in Accra, leading to the arrest.

“The suspect Nuhu Sule alias Ababaawa was arrested Friday, December 30, 2022, at his hideout in Accra,” a statement from the police said.

The award-winning US rapper Meek Mill is in Ghana for the first time and has been singing praises about his first experiences on African soil, confessing his undying love for Ghana.

He is the headline artiste for day one of this year’s Afro Nation festival, which took place at the Marine Drive of the Independence Square.

Meek Mill is the first American artiste to feature on Afro Nation Ghana which is his first major appearance in Africa, following years of talk about visiting Ghana.
