Police receives four vehicles from Svani Group
The SVANI Group Limited has donated two Renault Duster SUV and two Geely Salon Cars to the Ministry for the Interior.
The vehicles are to be used by the Police Service to assist in monitoring the December general elections.
Group Chief Executive of the company, Thomas Suanikier called on other corporate bodies to support the security agencies to ensure peaceful elections.
Accepting the vehicles on behalf of the police, Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery applauded the company for the kind gesture done the service.
He said that the President had made unprecedented investments in the security service architecture to make them more responsive.
“Yes, I can say the performance of the security service has improved even though I might admit that there is no perfect security system. So there is still room for us to improve on our records,” he said.
Mr. Dery handed over the vehicles to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh, at the same ceremony.
