The Ghana Police Service has placed a GH₵100,000 bounty on the heads of the person(s) behind the recent Wa serial murders.

The police said they would reward anyone who assists with reliable information leading to the arrest of persons who caused the havoc.

In an update, the police mentioned that another body of a male adult was recovered at Bamahu, a suburb of Wa, on Monday night.

This was after the arrest of the key suspect Kankani Adongo on Monday, 19 September 2022.

The statement added that after the necessary crime scene examination, the body was removed and deposited at the Regional Hospital awaiting autopsy.

A pathologist from the Police Hospital is leading a team to Wa as part of the investigation into the recent incidents.

The suspect is still in police custody, assisting with investigations.

“Analysis of intelligence gathered so far suggests that there may be more than one person involved in this heinous crime, and we will do whatever it takes to get them arrested to face justice,” the statement revealed.

Meanwhile, the police have assured that they will continue maintaining law, order and security in the Wa Municipality and its environs.

It would be recalled that residents hit the streets on Friday, 16 September 2022, over the recent murders, alleging that 10 security guards have been killed in the area since February 2022.

The residents massed up in front of the Wa Technical Institute to protest the security situation in the region.

They set car tyres ablaze to protest what they said was a poor security situation in Wa, which has resulted in the missing or death of the private security guards.
