The police officer who was injured during a shoot-out between cops and robbers who attacked a Chinese woman at Caprice has been promoted.
A statement from the police said the injured cop, who was formerly a Corporal, has moved up the rank to Sergeant.
It will be recalled that the officer and his team embarked on a special operation to arrest the armed robbers who attacked, shot and robbed the woman in Accra.
During the operation, the officer sustained a gunshot injury to the thigh.
The injured officer suffered multi-fragmented fractures to the bone of his right thigh due to the gunshot and was billed for major surgery.
The police, in the statement, also applauded the other team members for their individual roles leading to the arrest of one of the robbers.
Earlier, the Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery, visited the injured officer at the hospital.
