The Effiduase Police Command has commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of a 28-year-old man in the New Juaben North Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The lifeless body of Ibrahim Ahmed was found in the early hours of Tuesday, July 23, in the Pipeline area, a suburb of Koforidua.
Personnel from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) were alerted by passersby and subsequently notified the Effiduase Police Command.
The officers commenced investigations by speaking with residents and collecting forensic evidence, including photographs, to unravel the cause of the death.
Confirming the incident, the New Juaben North Deputy Municipal Director of NADMO, Kankam Twumasi Daniel, noted that the body of the deceased has since been deposited at St. Joseph Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
“In the early hours of Tuesday, we received a call from Pipeline within the New Juaben North Municipality, that is Asokore. We had to call the Effiduase Police Command to collaborate with them to move to the scene.
“When we got there, we saw the lifeless body of a young man named Ibrahim Ahmed. The circumstances leading to his death are not yet determined.
“Police officers are still under investigation reconvening the body from the scene to the St. Joseph mortuary for autopsy. Family members were identified and came to the aid of the team.”
