The Ghana Police Hospital is searching for relatives of an unidentified new mother, brought to the hospital after she was, knocked down by a hit-and-run driver at Madina Zongo Junction in the La Nkwantang Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The hospital says she was brought to the health facility by a police patrol team for treatment on the night of December 4, 2019, at about 11:45 pm.
Head of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Hospital, DSP Yaw Nketia-Yeboah, told The Ghana Report on Wednesday that: “Preliminary examination on her indicates that she has recently given birth, neat and nicely permed hair despite that she is mentally challenged”.
He explained that the inability of the patient to communicate effectively has made it impossible to identify and extract information from her.
The woman “is in good condition” after treatment and the hospital is asking the public to help trace and reunite her with her family.
The hospital has requested relatives of the patient to contact the Out-Patients / Emergency (OPD) Department or the Public Affairs Department of the facility for identification and further necessary actions.
