Police hold assurance parade in Akwatia ahead of Tuesday’s by-election

The Ghana Police Service held an assurance parade in Akwatia on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in anticipation of the by-election set for Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

This initiative aims to reassure residents, stakeholders, and political parties of the police’s commitment to maintaining law and order before, during, and after the elections.

An assurance parade is a standard security measure taken before important elections, showcasing the police’s readiness to address any potential disruptions swiftly and to deter violence or intimidation.

During the parade, the Ghana Police Service took the opportunity to remind voters in Akwatia about the electoral rules they need to adhere to on election day.

They stressed their dedication to ensuring a peaceful and credible by-election, calling on the public and all political parties to collaborate with security agencies for a seamless electoral process.
