Police debunk false rumours of IGP Yohuno’s death
The Ghana Police Service has dismissed widespread rumours claiming that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has died.
In a statement posted on X on Sunday, November 30, the Police said they had noticed false reports circulating online about the IGP’s supposed death and stressed that the information is entirely untrue.
The Service confirmed that Mr. Yohuno is alive, in good health, and performing his duties as usual.
They urged the public, police officers, and the IGP’s family to disregard the rumours.
The statement further cautioned those spreading the false claims, describing their actions as malicious and irresponsible.
The Police also warned that sharing disinformation is an offense, and anyone found responsible will be prosecuted.
