Police assures of adequate security measures ahead of NPP presidential race
The Ghana Police Service has assured NPP delegates that it has put in place adequate security measures to ensure peace and security for the presidential race today (Saturday, November 4, 2023).
In a press release signed by the Police Director of Public Affairs, ASP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the service has assured the public that sufficient police officers have been deployed across the nation to maintain electoral law and order.
The release, dated November 3, stated that “Adequate police personnel have been deployed throughout the country to provide security for the elections.”
Furthermore, the police officers stationed at polling centers will be equipped with body cameras to ensure comprehensive documentation of all events and occurrences during the primaries.
The statement highlights that the Ghana Police Service has already conducted a series of security meetings in collaboration with the Electoral Commission, the NPP Presidential Election Committee, and representatives of the Flagbearer hopefuls.
