The Police in Ghana have arrested one suspect in connection with the attack on the coach of Nsoatreman FC, Maxwell Konadu.
The suspect, Seidu Musah alias Gaswan, together with one other person, currently on the run, attacked Mr Konadu following the November 19 match against Bofoakwa Tano in Sunyani.
The attack, which occurred after Konadu’s team drew 0 -0 with Bofoakwa Tano in Sunyani left the coach unconscious and hospitalized.
In a statement by the police, “Seidu Musah is currently in Police custody assisting the investigation while efforts are still ongoing to get the other suspect arrested to face justice”.
An earlier statement from the police service said that they had identified two suspects and were in pursuit of them.
Meanwhile, Bofoakwa Tano, the Ghana Football Association(GFA), and the Ministry of Youth and Sports have strongly condemned the violent attack.
The Ministry issued a statement urging the police to quickly apprehend the culprits to discourage similar heinous acts from happening again.
GFA has also imposed a home ban on Bofoakwa Tano with immediate effect.
