The police have arrested Muniru Muhammad, one of the suspects connected to the disturbance at the Kukuom registration centre on Saturday, May 11, 2024.
The suspect is believed to have participated in the attack, resulting in the injury of one person at the Kukuom registration centre.
The Ghana Police Service reiterated in a statement issued on May 14, 2024, that they were notified of the chaos that marred the registration process and swiftly intervened to restore calm.
As a result of their prompt action, the registration exercise continued smoothly and peacefully at the centre.
It will be recalled that the police arrested the Member of Parliament (MP) for Asutifi South, Collins Dauda, and later discharged him for his involvement in the chaos that ensued during the ongoing limited voter registration exercise.
Meanwhile, the police have assured that they are actively pursuing other suspects involved in the disturbance, including those accused of assaulting three individuals.
The Ghana Police Service reassures the public that all individuals implicated in these incidents will be apprehended and brought before the court to face the full force of the law.
