The Ghana Police Service has arrested a man for possessing a weapon at the St. Theresa’s School polling station in the Okaikwei South constituency in the Greater Accra region.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, December 7, highlights the crucial role of law enforcement in maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.
In a press statement, the police noted that the suspect, Micheal Allotey, is currently assisting with investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and security throughout the electoral process.
The Police have also reminded the public to report any suspicious activities or security concerns to the Election Emergency Command Centre via the toll-free line 0800311311.
