One arrested in connection with attack on Ayawaso West Wuogon NPP office

The Ghana Police Service has arrested one of the suspects who attacked the New Patriotic Party (NPP) office at Ayawaso West Wuogon.

On Sunday, July 7, 2024, a group of people attacked the office and destroyed properties including two vehicles.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

In a statement dated Monday, July 8, the police said, the suspect, Judith Trisy is in custody assisting with investigations.

It added that efforts are underway to arrest the remaining suspects involved in the incident.

“The Ghana Police Service has arrested suspect Judith Trisy, identified as one of the people who attacked the Ayawaso West Wuogon office of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on 7th July 2024.

“The suspect is in custody assisting the investigation while efforts are ongoing to get the remaining suspects arrested,” the statement said.

In an earlier statement, the police said they were on a manhunt to apprehend the suspects immediately after the incident.

“We would like to assure the public that the perpetrators will be arrested to face justice,” the police said.
