Police arrest Nigerian suspect in mother–daughter killing

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old Nigerian fugitive accused of abducting and murdering a woman and her daughter in Nigeria.

The suspect, Victor Benjamin Fejemirokum, was apprehended during an intelligence-led operation in Akyem Wenchi, a suburb of Akwatia, where he had been hiding in a friend’s house.

Regional Commander DCOP George Ohene-Boadi confirmed the arrest at a press briefing on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

Police say Fejemirokum is the main suspect in the killing of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and her daughter in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria.

The case gained significant attention after a viral video alleged that he abducted and murdered the victims before fleeing Nigeria.

According to DCOP Ohene-Boadi, the Ghana Police Service is now working with Nigerian authorities to fast-track his extradition so he can face prosecution.

“The suspect is currently in police custody as frantic efforts are underway to hand him over to the Nigerian authorities,” he said.

The Regional Command urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their communities, assuring residents of continued operations to combat crime across the region.

“We are treating the public as a matter of urgency to inform the police about any suspicious movement of any person or group of persons in their communities to prevent crime,” he urged.
