Police arrest key suspect in Zebilla officer’s murder

The Ghana Police Service has arrested another suspect in connection with the killing of a police officer in Zebilla, located in the Upper East Region.

In an update, police confirmed that the suspect, Abdul Aziz Iddrisu, also known as Baaluuse, was arrested on February 17 during a joint, intelligence-led operation.

According to the statement, officers apprehended him at his hideout in Polego, a suburb of Bolgatanga, following targeted police operations.

Items retrieved from the suspect include three mobile phones.

Police said the phones “are currently being analysed as part of ongoing investigations”.

Investigators have also linked the suspect to videos in which he is seen displaying weapons believed to be connected to criminal activities in the area.

The Police said a special operation is now underway “to locate and retrieve the weapons as well as to arrest other accomplices connected to the case”.

The suspect is currently in Police custody and is assisting with investigations. Authorities will provide further updates as needed.
