The Ghana Police Service has arrested Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, after months of public anxiety sparked by his claims of an impending Christmas Day apocalypse that never occurred.

Police sources say Ebo Noah was picked up on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, following concerns about the panic his predictions caused and the unusual events that followed the failed prophecy.

His arrest came just hours before Watch Night services across the country, a period when authorities are particularly alert to messages that may stir fear.

Ebo Noah first came into the national spotlight in August 2025, when he declared that he had received divine instructions to build ten modern arks to save humanity from a three-year global flood.

According to him, the rains were to begin on December 25, 2025, mirroring the biblical flood. Over several months, his social media platforms showed him dressed in sackcloth, overseeing the construction of wooden vessels, which he claimed were the only refuge for those who believed his message.

His warnings drew hundreds of followers, some reportedly travelling from neighbouring countries, abandoning their homes and arriving at his site with bags and personal belongings.

Families waited anxiously as Christmas Day approached.

When December 25 passed without any sign of flooding, Ebo Noah released another video claiming that his fasting and prayers had convinced God to postpone the disaster.

Days later, he appeared on stage at the Rapperholic 2025 concert, encouraging fans to celebrate because the destruction had been delayed.

The appearance triggered public outrage, with many questioning how fear could so quickly turn into entertainment.

Police have since reminded the public that the ban on prophecies likely to cause fear and panic remains in force.
