Police arrest Blogger for spreading false claims about former NCA Chair
The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of Samuel Amadotor, a blogger associated with Dklassgh.net, for allegedly disseminating false information regarding the former board chair of the National Communication Authority (NCA), Mr. Okatakye Boakye Danquah Ababio II.
In a statement issued on Thursday, November 20, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) announced that Amadotor was arrested with the assistance of the National Signals Bureau (NSB) following a complaint filed by Mr Ababio.
The former NCA board chair accused Amadotor of maliciously spreading fabricated allegations about him.
The police further stated that during questioning, Amadotor confessed to the crime and implicated one Chairman Michael Yeboah as the individual who allegedly hired him to publish the false information.
The statement, which was signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, the Public Relations Officer at the CID, mentioned that efforts are currently underway to locate Chairman Yeboah to aid in the investigation.
Amadotor is currently in police custody and is anticipated to be brought before the court on Friday, November 21, 2025.
