Police arrest 33, impound 45 motorbikes in Kasoa anti crime swoop

The Central Regional Police Command has carried out a series of intelligence-led anti-crime operations across parts of the Kasoa area, resulting in the arrest of 33 suspects and the impounding of 45 motorbikes.

The operations were part of proactive measures to curb criminal activity before, during, and after the festive season.

The targeted swoops were conducted in areas including Kasoa Old Market, Awutu Breku, Gomoa Buduata, Senya Breku, and nearby communities.

In a press release dated December 19, 2025, the Police said the operations took place in the early hours of December 16 and 17, 2025.

During the exercise, some of the suspects were found with substances suspected to be Indian hemp and quantities of tramadol. A toy gun was also retrieved.

All 45 motorbikes seized during the operations are currently undergoing verification and documentation checks.

The arrested suspects are also being screened to support ongoing investigations, and those found culpable will be arraigned before the court to face the law.

Meanwhile, the Regional Police Command has advised the public to take personal security seriously during the festive season.

Residents are encouraged to avoid carrying large sums of money, move in groups, especially at odd hours, ensure the use of crash helmets by motorbike riders, avoid drunk driving and overspeeding, and stay away from secluded areas when alone.

The Command expressed gratitude to residents and stakeholders in the region for their cooperation in maintaining law and order throughout the year.

It also commended officers within the Command for their dedication and commitment to effective policing.

The Police have assured the public of their readiness to ensure a safe and crime-free festive season, warning that anyone found engaging in criminal activities will be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the law.
