The People’s National Party (PNP) has endorsed Janet Asana Nabla as its flag bearer for the 2024 general elections.
Dr. Edmund Ayesu, a Senior Research Fellow at Kumasi Technical University’s Centre for Social Science Research, has been endorsed as her running mate.
This was confirmed in a statement issued by PNP General Secretary Suleman Seidu on Monday, September 2, 2024.
The decision was made by the party’s National Executive Committee during a meeting on Sunday, September 1.
Mr. Seidu noted that Ms. Nabla, a former public service and health administrator, was selected for her leadership skills and commitment to gender equality, economic sovereignty, and social justice.
She is also the first female general secretary of a political party in Ghana.
Dr. Ayesu’s background in econometrics, policy design, and civil society activism aligns with the PNP’s vision for a prosperous Ghana, the statement added.
The PNP called on Ghanaians to support Ms Nabla and Dr Ayesu as they campaign on the principles of family, community, and national progress.
