The People’s National Convention (PNC) has opened nominations for prospective candidates to apply for its flagbearer role and other executive positions.
The latest decision comes after the PNC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Saturday, August 10.
In a statement, the acting General Secretary of the PNC, Prince Agyemang Duah, said interested members are expected to pick up their forms at the party headquarters from Monday, August 12, to Saturday, August 17, 2024.
The primaries, which will also be the congress for the party, have been scheduled for Saturday, August 31.
The statement further said NEC has constituted a congress committee as well as various ad hoc committees for the primaries.
Meanwhile, an earlier statement said flagbearer hopefuls are expected to pay GH¢100,000 as filing fee.
The party indicated that the vice-chairperson and general secretary positions are going for GH¢25,000, while the national organizer aspirants will pay GH¢15,000.
In the case of the National Chairperson position, prospective candidates are expected to pay GH¢35,000.
The national women’s organizer, national treasurer, and national youth organizer aspirants will each pay GH¢10,000, with their deputy positions set for GH¢5,000 each.
The nomination forms for the various positions are as follows: GH¢200 for the regional elections, GH¢500 for the national elections, and GH¢2000 for the presidential election.
