Playing in the Basketball Africa League is totally different- Spintex Knights head coach
Spintex Knights Basketball Club head coach Thomas Amedeku has described competing in the Basketball Africa League (BAL) as a “totally different” experience.
He said this in an interview upon the team’s return to Ghana after sealing qualification for the BAL Elite 16 stage in Libya. The team arrived at the Kotoka Airport on Thursday, October 17.
Accra Basketball League champions Knights, represented Ghana in the NBA run tournament and finished second in the West Division’s Group B standings to progress to the next round.
The Elite 16 stage runs from November 5 to November 10 and Amedeku praised the level of play in the BAL stating that,
“Playing in the Road to BAL is way different. The feel of the court, even the standard of players that come is totally different. We were playing against guys that have played in the NBA Gatorade League, stints in the NBA and all over the world so yeah it’s totally different.”
Knights are the first basketball club from Ghana to make it this further in the BAL. Scroll down to view how Knights were received on their arrival.
