PHOTOS: How flood affected parts of Accra

THE vulnerability of Accra to floods manifested again on Tuesday when parts of the city were submerged in water after nearly five hours of torrential rain.

Two people died at Odawna, the city’s mechanic hub, while homes in Adabraka, Suwutuom and Mile 7 got submerged as running water swept through parts of the city.

Residents and mechanics of Odawna were forced to scoop volumes of water from their homes and shops,  while counting their count their losses.

On the Nsawam-Accra road, an engineering error on the Achimota-Nkrumah Circle stretch resulted in a pool of water taking over a section of the road, causing a rush-hour gridlock.
