As part of its preparation towards a peaceful election, the Electoral Commission has held a thanksgiving prayer service with its retired staff association.
Speaking at the service, the Chairman of the Commission, Jean Mensa said: “When we joined the Commission four months to the referendum and had to start from ground zero, it seemed hard but God saw us through”.
“Praise be to God for his assistance, for our able and competent staff and for giving us strength and wisdom to put all preparations for the 2020 Elections together”.
According to her, the prayer session is for free, fair, credible, transparent and peaceful elections in 2020.
Meanwhile, the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has joined the security services for a peaceful march in Accra.
The exercise was to demonstrate the preparedness of the security services and to assure the public of their safety ahead of the December 7 polls, during which more than 17 million voters are expected to elect a president and 275 parliamentarians.
