PHOTOS: Black Stars first training session ahead of CAR clash

Preparations for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against the Central African Republic have commenced for the Black Stars.

The initial training session at the Accra Sports Stadium saw the attendance of twelve players. Under the guidance of head coach Chris Hughton and the other coaching staff.

During the practice, the two assistant coaches, Didi Dramani and George Boateng, supervised some ball work drills. Additionally, goalkeeper coach Richard Kingston provided training for Lawrence Ati Zigi, who engaged in various drills. At one point, Ati-Zigi participated in ball work exercises alongside fellow players.

Ghana is set to host the Central African Republic in their final Group E match at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Thursday, September 7, 2023.

Chris Hughton’s team currently leads Group E with nine points, holding a one-point advantage over Angola and a two-point lead over the Central African Republic. Madagascar occupies the bottom position in the group with two points.

For the Black Stars, securing at least one point in the upcoming game would guarantee their qualification for the prestigious AFCON tournament.
