[Photos] Prez Akufo-Addo Visits National Chief Imam On His 104th Birthday

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo paid a visit to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu, on Sunday, April 23, 2023, to congratulate him on his 104th birthday.

During the visit, President Akufo-Addo lauded the National Chief Imam’s exemplary leadership in guiding the Muslim community in Ghana, and his contributions to promoting religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence in the country.

He described Ghana as a model for the rest of the world in terms of religious harmony, and commended the National Chief Imam for his role in achieving this feat.

“The National Chief Imam’s guidance of the Muslim flock in Ghana has been truly exemplary. Our country may well be the envy of the rest of the world when it comes to the question of religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence. His leadership and contribution to this state of affairs have been outstanding,” President Akufo-Addo said.

The president added that the National Chief Imam’s life and legacy serves as an inspiration to all Ghanaians, regardless of their religious affiliations, and that his teachings of compassion, love, and respect for one another are key to Ghana’s continued progress and development.

The president was accompanied by the first lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo.

For his part, the National Chief Imam thanked President Akufo-Addo for his kind words and prayers, and expressed his gratitude for the President’s visit on his birthday.

The visit was part of several events that marked the National Chief Imam’s 104th birthday celebrations, which included prayers, charity drives, and cultural performances.
