A pedestrian has been knocked down by a vehicle at the Pokuase Interchange near the Eco block on Sunday, March 1.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred under poor visibility conditions due to non-functioning streetlights on portions of the interchange.
Residents said the faulty lighting has made it difficult for motorists to see pedestrians attempting to cross the road, especially at night, increasing the risk of accidents in the area.
“A car just hit an auto-sprayer right now. It’s very sad. None of the streetlights is working. Imagine a highway without any streetlights,” one resident said.
They have appealed to the relevant authorities to urgently fix and provide adequate streetlights on the interchange to prevent further loss of lives.
