A seriously sick woman believed to be in her late 60s who was allegedly dumped at a bush at Gomoa Ojobi in the Central Region on Tuesday has died.
She reportedly passed on Thursday morning, and her body has been conveyed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital morgue.
Information gathered indicates that the frail and immobile old woman was dumped with her wheelchair on Tuesday, June 11, 2023, at around 8:30 pm.
Both legs of the woman were in a Plaster of Paris (POP) cast as she remained motionless.
According to a police source, the victim was on admission and receiving treatment at the Winneba Trauma Hospital after being involved in an accident.
However, the hospital discharged the patient and allegedly dumped her in a bush after failing to identify her family members.
The residents indicated that even though they could not see the inscription on the ambulance due to bad visibility, they suspect the vehicle came from a health facility in Winneba.
Why at all is this? What purpose does life serve in a confined of a facilities called ‘Hospital’? When it comes to hospital personnel on duty, what responsibilities do you bear within the hospital walls? An elderly woman, supposedly injured in an accident, seeks assistance to recover from trauma at your facility. Shockingly, she ends up discarded in the bushes by hospital personnel. None of these staff could have sympathy on the old lady. This bewildering situation is beyond my comprehension.”
