A 47-year-old pastor has met his untimely death after he was attacked by a resident of Ejisu-Donyina in the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, identified as Ben Jesus, was reportedly beaten to death by a 35-year-old suspect, who was only identified as Kwabena, on Monday, March 27, 2023.
Kwabena was said to have accused the pastor of insulting his parents before the attack.
According to a brother of the deceased, Nana Kofi Akwaboa Otoku, his brother was brutally assaulted by the suspect and left to die on the street.
“I received a distress call from some residents who witnessed the incident, and so I rushed to the scene, and upon getting there, I saw the victim gasping for breath.
“Those who witnessed the situation said my brother was subjected to life-threatening beatings and so had to rush him to hospital, the doctors after a few minutes of examination declared my brother dead,” a distraught Nana Kofi narrated.
Nana Kofi Akwaboa disclosed that the suspect has since been arrested by the Ejisu Divisional Police Command after the family lodged an official complaint.
Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Emena Hospital morgue for autopsy.
