Pastor kills daughter over witchcraft allegations
A Pastor of the Heaven Kingdom Palace International in Accra, Gideon Boakye, is in the grips of the police at Nkoranza in the Bono East Region for killing his nine-year-old daughter over witchcraft allegations.
Queenstar Boakye, who lived with her grandparents at Nkoranza went missing after she was supposed to have travelled to Accra with her father, on December 14, 2020.
He had visited the home to participate in the December 2020 general elections.
A month after little Queenstar was believed to have left for Accra with her father, her grandparents called Mr. Boakye to inquire about the well-being of their granddaughter.
Mr. Boakye then said he did not travel with his daughter to Accra.
This alarmed the family in the village who then reported to the police that their daughter was missing.
The police arrested Mr. Boakye to assist with investigations in the matter, Daily Guide has reported.
During interrogation, Mr. Boakye confessed he had murdered his daughter.
According to him, a senior pastor of his church accused the little girl of witchcraft and advised that she be beaten every night from about 1:00 am till her demons were exorcised.
He brazenly carried out the act and in the process, murdered his daughter in cold blood.
Afraid of the consequences of his action, Mr. Boakye secretly put the body of his dead daughter into a sack popularly called ‘Ghana must go’ and dumped it at the town’s cemetery, and left for Accra.
The suspect led the police to the burial ground where the remains of the innocent girl were retrieved and given back to the family for re-burial.
