Parliament’s Appointments Committee continues vetting of ministerial nominees on Tuesday

The Appointments Committee of Parliament is proceeding with vetting ministerial nominees designated by President John Dramani Mahama.

According to a revised vetting schedule, the process will run from January 28 to February 4, 2025, featuring a lineup of nominees for key ministerial and regional leadership positions.

Nominees scheduled for vetting include Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, designated for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources; Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, for the Ministry of Defence; and Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, as Minister of State in Charge of Special Initiatives.

The process will also review regional ministers, such as Wilbert Petty Brentum for the Western North Region and Mrs. Charity Gardiner for the Ahafo Region.

Tuesday, 28 January 2025:

As of 26 January 2025, 28 nominees have been vetted, with 24 approved by the committee. Some of the approved nominees include Dr Cassiel Ato Forson (Finance), Dr Dominic Akuritinga Ayine (Attorney General and Minister of Justice), and John Abdulai Jinapor (Energy).
