In a recent parliamentary session, the government approved an allocation of GHC250,000 for each Member of Parliament (MP) through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund).

This funding is designated to support educational initiatives within the constituencies of the MPs.

Additionally, MPs will receive an extra GHC150,000 for the monitoring and oversight of these educational projects.

Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, addressed the approval during the parliamentary discussions on Saturday, March 29.

He stated that, during deliberations, the MPs proposed to the Finance Minister the need for a re-alignment of funds, considering the increasing pressures MPs face to address educational needs across the country.

The Minister of Finance and the GETFund administrator acknowledged the request and approved the adjustments, resulting in the enhanced project fund allocation for MPs.
