Paris 2024: Ghana to run in Lane 3 in Men’s 4×100 Relay Semifinals on August 8
Ghana’s last chance to shine in the 2024 Paris Olympics lies with the men’s 4×100 meter relay team, who will compete in the semifinals on August 8 at 9:35 GMT.
The team, consisting of Ibrahim Fuseini, Benjamin Azamati, Isaac Botsio, and Joseph Paul Amoah, will face stiff competition from seven other teams, including Liberia in Lane 2, Brazil in Lane 4, China in Lane 5, Canada in Lane 6, France in Lane 7, Jamaica in Lane 8 and Germany in Lane 9.
To secure a spot in the finals, they must finish among the top three in their heat or achieve one of the fastest non-automatic qualifying times.
Ghana’s sprinters, Benjamin Azamati and Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, missed out on qualifying to the finals of the Men’s 100 Metres Final.
The team has shown remarkable resilience and determination, having qualified for the Olympics despite a rocky start at the World Relays in the Bahamas.
USA’s Noah Lyles won the final in dramatic fashion ahead of Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson and fellow American Fred Kerley.
