Paralympics Games: Ghana’s Zinabu Issah misses out on medal after 9th place finish

Ghana’s Zinabu Issah missed out on a medal after finishing ninth in the Women’s Shot Put at the ongoing Paralympic Games in Paris.

Her throw of 8.84 meters in the F57 final was her personal best and an improvement from her 8.67 meters in the qualifiers, but it was not enough to secure a medal.

Djelal Safia from Algeria won the gold, while Xu Mian from China and Algeria’s Saifi Nassima claimed silver and bronze, respectively.

It marks the second time Zinabu has missed out on a medal, having also failed to secure one in the Discus event.

All attention now turns to Tahiru Haruna, who is set to compete in para-powerlifting on Sunday, September 8.

Ghana was represented by four athletes at the Games, with Patricia Kyeremaa and Frederick Assor have already exiting the Taekwondo and Para Cycling events, respectively.
