#PaeMukaAt20: Sarkodie, Yvonne Nelson, Ablakwa, others go crazy over Obrafour’s first album

Even before the announcement from rapper Obrafours’ team to celebrate his 20 years since the release of his first album Pae Mu Ka, some celebrities were already going crazy for it on the sidelines.

Yvonne Nelson who started a poll on Twitter earlier this month asking Ghanaians if they would want the artiste to stage a concert to celebrate the 20th anniversary, could not hide her joy when the announcement came.

To show how much of a fan she is of the ‘Rap Sofoɔ’s’ work, she changed her profile pics on Twitter and Instagram to an old photo of Obrafour.

Sharing a video on Instagram, she revealed Pae Mu Ka was the first ever album she bought and it meant a lot to her. She could not wait to join the rapper on his concert.

Sarkodie had a whole essay to write about the rapper he calls ‘Godfather’.

He wrote, “I call him Godfather because he guided me through this journey called Music. His legacy gave me the urge to push harder.”

Sarkodie stated he is more than just a fan of the Obrafour, he is a STAN!

The rapper revealed he always pinches himself anytime he is in the presence of Obrafour, just to prove he really is living the reality.

The ‘Adonai’ hitmaker continued to thank Obrafour for all his positivity and influence in his music.

For Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa, just tweeting about the rapper was just not enough. The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu Constituency had to get a copy of the “special autographed copy of his iconic first album” and brag about it.

He added, he was proud of the rapper’s plans for rural education with his Obrafufuornti Foundation.

Mr Ablakwa revealed the Pae Mu Ka concert is one he certainly would not miss!

However, it seems these celebrities are not the only ones beside themselves with joy and anticipating the Pae Mu Ka concert.

#PaeMuKaAt20 is trending number one on Twitter. Fans are sharing their favourite songs of the album, while others are singing praises of the rapper.

Mensa of FOKN Bois just wanted a remix of the Pae Mu Ka album and nothing else!

He wrote, “@iamobrafour please release acapella for Pae Mu Ka to some of the sickest producers in Ghana (we have MANY) and select the best 10 for Pae Mu Ka 20th Anniversary Remix album! It’ll be so dope! And such an honour for the New Gen to be a part of dis legacy.”

Rapper Kojo Cue had to do one thing and one thing only, write his favourite verse from Pae Mu Ka off the album.

“Reggie Osei kae Obrafour me nso m’aka, wo ne hwan? Wo ntumi, kɔ fie kɔ da black label ete sɛ aflao border wo kɔ soro ba fom koraa jack yɛ bɛ searche wo Rap nyɛ kokofu ball bɔ na wo nua bi apasse wo me nim sɛ wo gyina hɔ yi wo girlfriend ntruste wo,” he wrote.

The Fante Vandam, Paapy Kodjo, was certain of what he wanted for his future just by listening to Obrafour at the young age of 10, regardless of the lashes he took to discourage him from that path.

“Hm at the age of 10 , I already knew who or what I wanted to become because of this man @iamobrafour , all the lashes I took for u because all I knew was Obrafour I love you man NOBODY LIKE OBRAFOUR! won twe. #PaeMuKaAt20,” he revealed.

AJ Sarpong was not going to be left out at all, she had to have her say. Of course, being a die-hard fan, she and her sister had to play the life out of that album.

She wrote, “I remember my sister buying the cassette of Obrafour’s Pae Muka and we played it and played it till the cassette had no life in it again I know word for word so many Obrafour songs it ain’t even Funny!!! #PaeMukaAt20.”

#PaeMukaat20 Rap Music defined. Obrafuo remains a legend. Agro na so will remain my favourite,” Tanko Osman wrote.
