Over 6,000 trainees targeted as The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair kicks off
The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) is set to support thousands of Ghanaians with rapid skills training, entrepreneurship, and empowerment as The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair kicks off on Thursday, September 19, in Accra.
The fair, which aims to tackle unemployment, is scheduled to run from September 19th to October 5th, 2024, at the Independence Square and the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
In addition to training programmes, there will be over 5000 job opportunities.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Alhaji Ibrahim Bashiru, who spoke on behalf of his boss, said the initiative by The Ghana Report falls directly in line with the agency’s mandate and current priorities, hence a partnership to achieve the common goal.
“The 16-day jobs and entrepreneurship fair in collaboration with The Ghana Report on the theme ‘Building a stronger entrepreneurship base for sustainable job creation for the Ghanaian Youth’ re-echoes not only in the corridors of YEA but also presents a moment of hope for young people seeking to build their capacities in the area of entrepreneurship.”
He made this known at the opening ceremony of the fair on Thursday, September 19th, at the Independence Square.
The ceremony was graced by the Deputy Minister of Local Government, Decentralisation, and Rural Development, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, and the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Alhaji Ibrahim Bashiru, who joined the GCEO of I-ZAR Group, Ms. Rashida Saani, to officially commence the job fair.
Alhaji Bashiru further explained:
“Let me also add that we have Rapid Skills Training sessions for people interested in detergent and soap making, wallpaper installations, baking and local drink production, make-up, manicure, pedicure, paper craft, CCTV and DSTV installation. The Digital Skill component also features coding and robotics, artificial intelligence, drone assembling, and digital and social media marketing. The Master Class also presents opportunities for persons interested in plumbing, carpentry, dressmaking, make-up artistry, and nail techniques. There are planned seminars on professional grooming, material handling, and safety. There are also opportunities to undergo training to unlock the career uncertainties of many young Ghanaians through the Career Fair and an opportunity for upcoming entrepreneurs to exhibit their products and services.”

In collaboration with the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), participants at The Ghana Report Jobs & Entrepreneurship Fair will benefit from direct employment, training, entrepreneurship development, and networking opportunities.
Available jobs cut across government institutions, leading private companies, and international organisations.
Many recruiters, entrepreneurs, skills trainers, and talent hunters will be present to employ qualified job seekers on the spot.
In her remarks, Ms. Saani, a renowned business mogul and philanthropist, expressed confidence that the fair will deliver thousands of opportunities for job seekers.
“As we stand at the beginning of this fair, I am filled with optimism. I believe that by the time we conclude, many lives would have been touched, many opportunities would have been created, and we would have taken a significant step toward reducing unemployment in Ghana,” she said.
With more than 250 institutions ready to offer opportunities to the teeming youth, Ms. Saani indicated that it was an honour “to stand before you as we embark on this critical journey to help bridge the gap between job seekers and employers in Ghana.”
“This fair is more than just an event—it is a powerful demonstration of what public-private partnerships can achieve when we work together to tackle one of the most pressing challenges of our time: unemployment, especially among the youth,” she underscored, adding, “Through collaboration, we can create a stronger, more inclusive economy that provides meaningful opportunities for our young people, the very future of our nation.”
The Ghana Report Jobs & Entrepreneurship Fair promises surprise performances and appearances by top musicians and A-list entertainers.
Multiple award-winning dancehall king Stonebwoy, 2022 artiste of the year KiDi, powerful vocalist Efya, the energetic Sherifa Gunu, Camidoh, Joey B, and Kwami Eugene, are expected to thrill fans on different days.
King Paluta, Criss Waddle, Maccasio, Wendy Shay, D-Cryme, and Kofi Jamal are also expected at the programme.
