Adriver has reportedly been killed by officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, sparking tension in parts of the state capital.
It was gathered that the fatal incident occurred around 10 am on Sunday at Dada Estate in the State capital during an enforcement operation by officers attached to the Osun Command of the customs service.
Residents and security sources said the officers, who were reportedly dressed in mufti, were attempting to intercept a vehicle suspected to be an unregistered “Tokunbo” car when the situation escalated, according to a security source, Zagazola Makama.
During the operation, one of the officers allegedly opened fire on the driver of a Toyota Highlander.
The victim was said to have sustained gunshot wounds and later died.
As of the time of filing this report, the identity and address of the deceased had not been officially confirmed.

Meanwhile, two officers identified as Superintendent Kolawole Suuti and Superintendent Danjuma Samuel were reportedly involved in the operation.
While one of them was reportedly apprehended following the shooting, the other was said to have been rescued from an angry crowd that gathered at the scene.
Items recovered from the scene included a private Toyota vehicle allegedly used by the customs officers, the deceased’s Toyota Camry, and a Beretta pistol with breech number 125024.
Also recovered were 11 rounds of 9mm live ammunition and one expended shell.
It was gathered that the recovered exhibits and vehicles have since been moved to the state headquarters, as an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting is said to have commenced.
