‘Our Roads Look Like Galamsey Sites’ – Teshie Residents Stage Protest Over Deplorable Roads
Residents of Teshie on Tuesday, May 30, massed up on the streets to register their displeasure over the deplorable state of their roads.
The demonstration aims to draw attention to the pressing need for repairs and improvements to the road infrastructure in Teshie.
The residents who were clad in red held placards amidst drumming and singing to drum home their message.
“All we are asking for is for the road to be fixed. I visited the workshop to fix my car twice just this week. You can imagine what we are going through as residents.
“We have been neglected for long. The potholes are even more than galamsey sites,” a road user lamented.
The inscriptions included “Our roads look like galamsey sites, Potholes endanger our lives, and Our women are experiencing miscarriages,” among others.
The M33ba Teshie demonstration to wit ‘Why Teshie’ started from the Adjorman Roundabout and ended at Teshie-Maamli.
Prior to Tuesday’s demonstration, the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly announced the commencement of rehabilitation works on several inner roads in the Teshie area.
