A harrowing incident occurred in Adum, Kumasi, on Wednesday morning when a Toyota Vitz with registration number AS 3897-23 crashed into a jewellery shop, leaving one person injured and causing substantial damage to the store.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver experienced brake failure, causing the vehicle to veer off its lane and hurtle towards the shop.
The sales manager narrowly escaped harm, fleeing moments before impact, but a nearby resident sustained injuries.
The crash severely damaged the shop’s front glass and several jewellery items on display.
Fortunately, no fatalities were reported.

Eyewitnesses report that a KIA Rhino truck with registration number AS 6803-T lost control and ran over a taxi cab and a rickshaw.
According to witnesses, the truck’s failure to brake in time led to the horrific crash, which involved an Opel Astra and the rickshaw.
The impact of the accident they said was massive, resulting in severe injuries to the six victims.
The injured individuals are currently receiving medical attention at the Tafo Hospital.
The extent of their injuries is still being assessed, but eyewitnesses describe the scene as chaotic and disturbing.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bus was carrying a group of workers when it was involved in the accident.
Also on Thursday, September 5, 2024, three persons were confirmed dead in a gory accident at Gomoa Mprumem on the Mankessim-Winneba highway in the Central Region.
The accident left eight others in critical condition.
Eyewitnesses report that the driver of the Toyota Hiace mini commercial bus lost control of the vehicle after a tyre burst, causing the bus to crash and catch fire.
The swift response of firefighters from Apam and Winneba Fire Service stations prevented further loss of life, rescuing those trapped inside.
The deceased have been taken to St. Luke Catholic Hospital Morgue, while the injured are receiving treatment at Winneba Specialist and Trauma Hospital.
