One person has been detained by the Ghana Police Service as investigations begin into the death of Eric Johnson, the CEO of Royal Cosy Hill Hotel in Jirapa, in the Upper West Region.
The police, in a statement, said the arrest followed an investigation initiated by the Regional Crime Scene Management Team upon their visit to the crime scene.
The deceased, Eric Johnson, was found on February 11, 2024, lying in a pool of blood in one of the rooms at the hotel.
The Inspector-General of Police has since deployed a team of investigators and experts led by the Director-General/CID to work with the Upper West Regional Police Command to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.
Earlier report suggested that the deceased, Eric Johnson, was reportedly attacked by unknown assailants on Saturday night, February 10, resulting in his untimely death.
Johnson, an entrepreneur, recently undertook the construction of the safari resort in Jirapa.
He believed it was important to create employment opportunities for the youth and boost the area’s tourism sector to enhance the local economy.
