One more suspect arrested over murder of Kumasi businesswoman
The police have arrested another suspect over the murder of a 35-year-old businesswoman, Princess Afia Ahenkan, at Apaaso near Sokoban Ampabame in the Ashanti Region.
The police said they arrested the two through a targeted intelligence-led operation on September 14, 2023.
The arrest occurred after the discovery of her body in the garage of her residence by the police crime scene experts.
The statement has revealed that he went into hiding with his accomplice, James Anokye, in Accra.
“The car has, however, been found at Adenta with its documents and subsequently impounded at the Oyibi Police Station for further investigation while efforts are underway to arrest the buyer to assist the investigation.
“Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy,” the police said.
Meanwhile, the bereaved family is calling for an investigation into the security company that employed the suspect.
According to the family, the deceased engaged the services of a security agency in recruiting John Alister as her househelp barely a month ago.
A relative of the deceased, Patrick Mensah, said it is, “Not up to two weeks when my mom brought the security guard here. I can’t say much, but what I want is justice.
“I want the police to investigate the company and bring out some good news. Because you can’t just come here to commit such a crime. I will leave it to the police to do everything.”
