One person has been confirmed dead due to a road traffic collision involving a Toyota Voxy and a stationary MAN Diesel truck at Teacher Mantey on the Accra–Kumasi Highway on Saturday, March 7.
According to a Facebook post by the Ghana National Fire Service on Sunday, March 8, a six-member rescue team from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station, under the leadership of ADOII Ocansey Bright, arrived at the location to discover the Toyota Voxy severely impacted against the parked truck.
Firefighters undertook a rescue mission and successfully retrieved the body of a male passenger who had been trapped within the extensively damaged vehicle. The deceased was later transferred to the police for further investigation and preservation.

Eyewitnesses indicated that the Toyota Voxy was reportedly travelling at a high rate of speed when it collided with the stationary MAN Diesel truck along the highway.
“After completing the rescue operation, personnel from the fire service cleared the scene to restore normal traffic flow before returning safely to base,” the post stated.
