Kencity Media’s Kwabena Kwakye, popularly known as Wofa KK, a broadcaster on Oman 107.1FM in Accra, has tragically passed away.

He arrived for work today, February 14, 2024, but fell ill, leading to his untimely demise.

Wofa KK contributed significantly to Oman FM’s programming, notably on shows like ‘Boiling Point’ and ‘National Agenda’, where he often filled in for the regular host, Fiifi Boafo.

He also served as a parliamentary and presidential correspondent at Net2 TV.

In 2017, Kwabena Kwakye was appointed to the Board of the Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) by President Akufo-Addo under the chairmanship of former acting National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay.

The CEO of Kencity Media, Kennedy Agyapong, and the deceased’s family are yet to react and issue formal announcements.

This is the second death involving a media personality within one week.

On Monday, February 5, 2024, the morning show host on New Day TV, Michael Osei, also known as Nana Yaw Osei Tenkorang, was found dead in his room in Takoradi.

Nana Yaw Osei Tenkorang didn’t show up at work on the said date, and calls to him went unanswered, which was not characteristic of him; hence, some people decided to go and check up on him at his residence.

His room was eventually opened with the help of others, only to find him unresponsive on his bed.

He was then rushed to the hospital but was declared dead upon arrival.

Nana Yaw Osei Tenkorang is reported to be 35 years old and a fourth-year public relations student at Islamic University.
