OFFICIAL: Kamaldeen Sulemana signs for Italian Serie A side Atalanta
Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana has signed with Italian Serie A club Atalanta after completing his transfer from English Premier League team Southampton.
The 23-year-old joined Atalanta following a year and a half in the Premier League with Southampton and a full season in the EFL Championship.
Born in Techiman, Sulemana previously played for Danish club FC Nordsjaelland and French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes before his time at Southampton.
His spell in England was significantly impacted by injuries, particularly during the 2024-2025 season, where he managed to score two goals and provide three assists in 30 appearances across all competitions while Southampton faced relegation.
By signing for Atalanta on a reported four-year deal worth £18.5 million, Sulemana reunites with head coach Ivan Juric, who previously managed Southampton before resigning toward the end of the last season.

Juric isn’t the only familiar face at Atalanta as Kamaldeen gets to team up with fellow Black Stars player Ibrahim Sulemana.
Kamaldeen gets to compete in next season’s UEFA Champions League after Atalanta finished third in the 2024-2025 standings.
In a club statement, Atalanta stated, “The Percassi and Pagliuca family, along with the whole Atalanta Club, extend a heartfelt welcome to Kamaldeen and wish him every success — both on a personal level and as a key part of the team — in the Nerazzurri colours.”
