Nyaho reveals heavyweights associated with Hearts of Oak

A board member of Accra Hearts of Oak football club, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe has mentioned some Ghanaian big names closely associated with the premier club. A conversation on Joy TV, monitored by The Ghana Report, underscored the glamorous status of Hearts.

The personalities include a former Inspector General of Police, Mr. C. K Dewornu, a former National Security and Information minister, Mr. Kofi Totobi Quakyi, a former Minister of Energy, Mr. Ato Ahwoi, the current Chief Executive of the Club, Togbe Afede, and a former Youth and Sports minister, late Ato Austin.

Beyond the disclosure by Dr. Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe, it is known that former Presidents John Atta Mills and Jerry John Rawlings were sympathizers of Accra Hearts of Oak. The latter was an open secret as he was a patron of the club, whilst hearsay linked the latter with the club. Nonetheless, the belief heightened when a Kotoko player, Sarfo Gyamfi avoided a handshake with President Rawlings during team inspection before the kick-off of a Kotoko-Hearts encounter.

The player whose action was condemned allegedly did so within the mutual suspicions that characterize such epic matches. A faint rumor also suggested another former National Security Advisor, the Capt. Kojo Tsikata also leaned towards Hearts of Oak.
