Nurses and Midwives launch educational fund in memory of slain nurse, Ruth Eshun
The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) as part of the International Nurses Day celebration, yesterday launched the Ruth Ama Eshun Memorial Educational Fund in memory of the murdered nurse.
The Fund is to cater for her three children.
Ruth Eshun, a 37-year-old nurse, was murdered by unknown assailants at Ayoum in the Ashanti Region, while returning home from work.
Presenting the fund’s certificate to her husband, Felix Nyante, Registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council, said the educational fund would go a long way towards advancing the education, training and life skills of the three children the deceased nurse left behind.
He called on other organisations and philanthropists to contribute to the fund.
For her part, President of the GRNMA, Ms Perpetual Ofori-Ampofo, said the plan to have the education fund was to ensure that the education of the children was not interrupted following their mother’s demise.
