A 26-year-old nurse, Comfort Oppong, is fighting for her life after being stabbed multiple times by her ex-boyfriend at Pramso in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti Region.
This reportedly happened following an altercation over her refusal to allow her ex-boyfriend, Akwasi Asuman, to spend the night at her place.
Vincent Kofi Frimpong, the victim’s father said, Asuman, who broke up with Comfort about five months ago, had returned on January 27, 2024, to visit their one-year-old child.
Asuman then demanded to spend the night with his ex-girlfriend but she refused.
The situation quickly escalated into a blood bath when Asuman took a kitchen knife and stabbed Comfort seven times in the thighs and stomach leaving her with multiple wounds.
Some neighbours heard her cries for help and intervened and rushed her to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
“My daughter called, gave the phone to Akwasi and I talked him through. Yet, after minutes I could hear my daughter scream. I came to the hospital to see bandages all over her,” Comfort’s father said.
Meanwhile, Asuman tried to commit suicide after he attacked his ex-girlfriend but survived.
He was also admitted to KATH where he is currently receiving treatment.
The police and medical officers at the hospital are yet to speak on the incident.
