Nsoatreman FC make light work of Elect Sport in CAF Confederation Cup debut
Nsoatreman FC have made a significant start to their CAF Confederation Cup journey following a thumping win over Chadian club Elect Sport on Sunday.
The Ghana FA Cup champions inflicted a 3-0 win over Elect Sport in the first leg of the preliminary round at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Nsoatre-based club showed resilience and determination as they secure an emphatic home win over their opponent.
Two goals from Abdul Rahman and Kwabena Adu Meider’s striker were enough to hand Nsoatreman FC victory.
They will go into the return leg with the advantage following the resounding victory on home turf.
Abdul Rahman shot Nsoatreman FC into the lead after 31 minutes into the thrilling clash before the former Ghana U20 winger Kwabena Adu Meider fired home the second goal, two minutes later.
Elect Sport FC woes were deepened when their goalkeeper, Mahamat Bechir, received a red card for handling outside his area in the 54th minute of the game.
The Ghanaian outfit later cemented the victory after founding the back of the net for the third time.
Nsoatreman FC goalkeeper Daniel Afazdwu pulled off staggering performance in the last twenty minute after making three significant saves to deny Elect Sport from scoring.
The second-leg tie will be played in N’Djamena on August 24, 2024 and the winner of both legs will progress to the second round of the preliminary round.
